This page explains how Stegos Guides decides what to publish and how we check it. If we ever fall short of it, please tell us.
Where our facts come from
We prefer, in this order: laws, regulations and official orders; government and regulator websites; published standards and test reports; manufacturer specifications; and then reputable reporting. When a fact can change, such as a price, a tariff or a rule, we link to the source and show the date we checked it.
Dates and updates
Every guide shows its publish date. Where a guide contains numbers that change, it also shows a “Facts checked” date. We re-check those guides on a schedule and update the date only when we have actually re-checked the facts.
What we have and have not tested
We never claim to have used or tested a product we have not. When a guide is based on specifications and research rather than hands-on testing, it says so.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. A person checks the figures against their sources and edits every guide before it is published. AI is never used to invent quotes, reviews or test results.
Money and independence
Some links on this site are affiliate links, and the site may show ads. Neither changes what we write or which products we recommend. We do not accept payment for positive coverage. See the affiliate disclosure.
Health, money and legal topics
Guides on health, finance and legal topics are general information, not professional advice. For decisions that matter, speak to a qualified doctor, adviser or lawyer.
Corrections
If you find an error, use the contact page. We fix confirmed errors promptly and add a short correction note to the guide.
